Independent Medical Evaluation/Impairment Rating

IME
As of July 1, 2014 the Department of Labor & Industry ARM indicates 99455 and 99456 may be used to bill Independent Medical Exam (IME) services.   Montana State Fund requires non-contracted providers to bill 99499 in lieu of 99455 or 99456 for IME services. Use of 99499 will not result in a payment difference.

Impairment Ratings (IR) should continue to be billed using 99455 (treating provider) and 99456 (non-treating provider).
