Slips, Trips, and Falls: Three Point Method

When entering or exiting a vehicle:

  • Face the vehicle.
  • Get a firm grip before stepping up.
  • Place your foot on the step just in front of your heel and under the arch.
  • Use the ball of your foot, not the tip of your toes.
  • Exit in the same manner you entered.
  • Wear proper footwear; no cowboy boots.
  • Keep your hands free.
  • Do not use tires, wheel hubs or fuel tanks etc. as steps.
  • Never jump off; exit the same way you entered.
  • Conduct observations to track compliance.
