Take the lead to create a healthy safety culture at your organization by attending Montana State Fund’s next round of free safety workshops this September

Topics include:

Actively Caring for People (AC4P) – The concept of actively caring is a significant tenet of Dr. Scott Geller’s Safety workshop Training People Based Safety. To have a solid safety culture within your workplace you need to have employees who have a sense of belongingness and who are willing to get involved with your safety efforts. After the April 2007 Virginia Tech shootings, Dr. Geller and some of his students decided to take the concept of actively caring to another level and make it a movement. In this session, we will discuss the various aspects of actively caring and how it applies to your safety culture.

Leading Indicators of Your Safety Culture – Traditionally, industry in general, measures safety by using trailing indicators (e.g. The number of injuries that have occurred in a set amount of time). But does this type of measurement really determine a company’s safety culture efforts? In this session we will explore how leading indicators actually give you the best view of your safety efforts.

Slips, Trips, and Falls – According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics slips, trips, and falls cause over 221,000 lost time injuries each year at a cost of $70 billion. With fall and winter seasons just around the corner, now is the perfect time to discuss the causes of slips, trips, and falls and what steps can be taken to prevent them.
