Not Too Late to Sign Up for Safety Workshops

What do hiring practices, workplace fraud and keeping good safety records have in common? Give up? These three factors may considerably affect your bottom line and your employee’s productivity. Join our staff: Curt Larsen, Assistant General Counsel (Fraud Unit), Mike Worden, Sr. Human Resources Generalist, and Kirk Smith, Safety Services Specialist as they take these messages on the road beginning December 11, 2012.

Topics include:

Hiring Practices: It is important for all employers to understand hiring decisions and practices, especially when it comes to understanding Montana’s workers’ compensation laws. In this session, we will review the procedures for hiring, conducting post-offer physicals, complying with the American with Disabilities Act and Montana Human Rights Act, and more.

Detecting Fraud: What is workers’ comp fraud? What can you do if you suspect it? Find out how to identify and investigate potential fraudulent claims that could be made by employees, employers and medical providers.

OSHA Recordkeeping. Have you kept up with your company’s OSHA recordkeeping requirements? Join us in reviewing the requirements for OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping, how to fill out the correct forms (e.g. OSHA Forms 300, 300A, and 301) and what to do with them once they are completed.
