Get with the Program: Upcoming Safety Workshops

File-manageThere are a number of new and less known safety programs in Montana that most employers don’t realize exist. Join our staff for our next round of safety workshops as we give employers the knowledge and tools they need to understand and implement a variety of these safety programs.
Topics include:
Return to Work/Stay at Work Program: The passage of House Bill 334 in the Montana legislature introduced change of historic proportions to the workers’ compensation system in the state. One change was the creation of a fund to help the Montana Department of Labor & Industry (DLI) initiate either stay at work or return to work activities for injured workers.DLI was also charged with developing the rules and procedures for the program. This session will discuss those rules and procedures and how they apply to your employees.

Subsequent Injury Fund – This program is designed to help individuals with a permanent physical or mental impairment return to work by providing some protection to their employer should a new injury occur. In this session we will explore the different aspects of this long standing, but not often used program.

A Lifting Program – Back injuries continue to be the number one work related injury. Due to the design of the human back, it can be very costly in terms of medical and wage loss to recover from a back injury.Whether you think it or not, most employment requires some type of lifting. Here we will cover back safety, proper lifting, and look at the steps you can take to institute an effective lifting program in your place of business.
